I made this one night when I wanted a roast and didn't have use of my slow cooker. Someone borrowed it and it's till MIA, lol. So I did a stove top roast. Very easy to make.

Ingredients For easy top of the stove chuck roast

  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 3 lb
    beef chuck roast, trimmed
  • 1 Tbsp
    onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 lg
    onions, chopped
  • 1
    28 oz can diced tomatoes w/ juice.

How To Make easy top of the stove chuck roast

    In lg pot, over medium heat, heat oil. Brown roast on all sides. Sprinkle w/ onion and garlic powders, oregano, salt and pepper.

    Add onions and tomatoes w/ juice. Reduce heat to low. Cover, simmer for 2-2-1/2 hrs or until tender.
