Actually very easy and very tasty. Serve with mashed potatoes as this dish makes it's own gravy.

Ingredients For easy salisbuy steak

  • 1 lg
    beaten egg
  • 1/2 c
    soft bread crumbs (i use progresso italian bread crumbs)
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 c
    chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • GRAVY
  • 1 pkg
    dry onion soup mix
  • 3 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour

How To Make easy salisbuy steak

    Preheat oven to 350*. Beat egg, add ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, green pepper, salt & black pepper. Mix together well with your hands and shape into oval patties. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, pour off excess fat (I just use my broiler pan for this part & then transfer to a large casserole dish). While steaks are cooking. Combine 2 1/2 cups of water & soup mix on stove top, bring to a boil & simmer covered 10 minutes. Mix 1/2 cup water & flour till smooth, add to the soup mix, stir until thick. Pour over steaks and bake an additional 20 minutes. Makes 8-10 Steaks. Usually freeze 1/2 for emergency food. Depends on how may are here to eat.
