Here is my favorite tomato sauce: https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/main-course/italian/classic-tomato-sauce.html?p=8
  • 8
Add the cooked sirloin/sausage, and mix.
  • 9
Chef’s Note: At this time add a bit of salt and pepper, to the mixture, to taste.
  • 10
Chef’s Note: I’m not adding a lot of additional spices to this dish because most of the flavor is coming from the tomato sauce. However, any additional spices are up to you.
  • 11
Grease the insides of a large baking dish, or 4 medium ramekins.
  • 12
    Add the pasta/sauce/sausage mixture.
  • 13
I wanted my dish to be a bit juicier, so I added more tomato sauce.
  • 14
    Cover with the mozzarella cheese.
  • 15
Place in the preheated oven and allow the dish to bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly, and begins to brown..
  • 16
    PLATE/PRESENT
  • 17
Serve with a small side salad, and some nice crusty bread. Enjoy.
  • 18

Additionals: I'm thinking that some black or kalamata olives might give it a bit of a kick, and possibly some sautéed mushrooms...
