Can be made with beef, venison, or elk. We usually have a lot of deer and elk meat in the freezer so I use that in place of the beef. My husband LOVES it!

Ingredients For easy beef or venison and broccoli stir fry

  • 3 Tbsp
    corn starch, divided
  • 1/2 c
    water plus 2 tbsp water, divided
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 lb
    boneless beef, venison or elk round steak cliced into thin 3 inch strips.
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil, divided
  • 4 c
    broccoli florets
  • 1
    small onion, cut into wedges
  • 1/3 c
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    grated fresh ginger or 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • hot cooked rice
  • 1 pinch
    red pepper flakes (optional)

How To Make easy beef or venison and broccoli stir fry

    In a bowl, combine 2 T. cornstarch, 2 T. water and garlic until smooth. Add meat and toss to coat.

    Heat Large skillet or wok over med-high heat, add 1 T. oil to hot pan, swirl to coat then stir fry beef to desired doneness. Remove from pan and keep warm.

    Place remaining 1 T. oil in pan and stir-fry onion and broccoli for 4-5 minutes, then return beef to pan.

    Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, 1/2 c. water, and red pepper flakes. Add to the pan. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.

    Serve over hot cooked rice.
