Same old comfort food meatloaf, but with some Asian ingredients for an Oriental twist on an old favorite. Very moist and flavorful- makes great sandwiches the next day! Serve with white or brown rice and steamed broccoli.

Ingredients For east meets west meatloaf

1-1/2 lbground beef

1/2 lbground turkey or pork (unseasoned)

2eggs, lightly beaten

1 cpanko asian bread crumbs

1/2 cwater chestnuts, drained well and chopped finely

1/2 ceach yellow onion and bell pepper, finely chopped

2 tspminced ginger/garlic paste, from a jar
-
3 tsplow sodium soy sauce
-
1 tsphoisin sauce
-
1/4 tspchile garlic sauce
- GLAZE INGREDIENTS

1/4 cketchup
-
2 Tbsphoisin sauce
-
1/2 tspchinese mustard
-
1/4minced ginger/garlic paste
How To Make east meets west meatloaf

1Preheat oven to 350 deg. F.

2Mix meatloaf ingredients together in a bowl until well mixed. Pat into an oven baking dish or your favorite meatloaf pan.

3Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and carefully drain grease from pan.

4Blend glaze ingredients. Spread evenly over top of meatloaf. Return to oven and bake for 25-30 additional minutes.

5Remove from oven. Cover loosely with foil and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes to firm up. Slice and serve.
