Ingredients For dutch casserole

  • 2 lb
    round steak, cubed
  • 1/4 c
    shortening
  • 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 can
    tomato soup
  • 1 can
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp
    caraway seed
  • 1 md
    onion
  • 12
    carrots, quartered
  • 6
    potatoes, halved

How To Make dutch casserole

  • 1
    Melt shortening. Brown meat in casserole. Remove meat Set aside.
  • 2
    Stir in flour, salt, pepper and seasonings. Add soup, water and worcestershire sauce. Boil for 2 minutes.

    Add caraway seeds and browned meat. Arrange vegetables over meat. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
