The story behind this meatloaf is...Hubby loved his mothers meatloaf and no matter how I made meatloaf he hated it! (frankly, so did I!!) So, A lil old lady at church gave me a few pointers, then another lil old lady at church gave me a few pointers! This is what I came up with, Hubby's Mom, Darlene, apparently made it just like this except for my personalized drain pan of course!! Enjoy!

Ingredients For darlene & candi's meatloaf!

  • 2 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 8-10
    butter crakers, crushed
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    liquid smoke
  • 5 Tbsp
    mayonaise
  • 3 Tbsp
    onion diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    garlic diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    celery diced
  • 1 tsp
    each salt & pepper
  • 4 slice
    toasted bread torn up

How To Make darlene & candi's meatloaf!

    Cook garlic, onion and celery in butter or oil for about 5 minutes. In mixing bowl combine all ingredients and mix very very thoroughly. place into holy meatloaf pan and cook in 350* oven for 1 hour

    I hate meat to cook in it's own fat, so I came up with a solution! I got a pan from a thrift store and drilled holes in it!, I make a liner with aluminum foil or you can just use another pan under the holey pan to catch the fat.
