cube steak and onion gravy
This is my family favorite comfort food dinner. I sure hope you will try this at least one time, I know you'll honestly love it. The meat is so tender, you won't need a knife!!! And the gravy is so rich and definitely not salty.

Ingredients For cube steak and onion gravy

4cube steaks

2 pkgmccormick onion gray mix, 8 oz.

1/2 cunsalted butter
-
1/2 cflour
-
onion powder, to taste
-
salt and pepper,to taste

2 1/2 cwater
-
3-4 tspcanola oil
How To Make cube steak and onion gravy

1Preheat the oven to 350°. Season the cube steaks on both the front and backside. In a food storage gallon size bag, add flour and add 1 cube steak at a time, seal bag, shake bag to coat the meat.

2In a medium size fry pan, over medium heat, melt 1/2 stick of butter with 2 tsp. canola oil.

3Add 2 cube steaks at a time, browning each side of the meat.

4Place the cube steaks in a casserole pan. Set aside.

5Before adding the remaining 2 cube steaks, add more butter and oil.Add the remaining cube steaks, browning each side of the meat.

6Placing the cube steaks with the other two in the casserole pan. Set aside.

7Add the 2 envelopes of gravy mix to the fry pan of drippings. Over low heat, mix the drippings and gravy mix, creating a paste like mixture.

8Slowly, while mixing, add water. At this time, I add some pepper.

9Slowly, constantly mixing, bring gravy to a slow boil. Remove from heat.

10Pour the gravy mix over the meat in the casserole pan.

11Cove the casserole with aluminum foil, and place in the pre-heated oven.

12Bake the cube steak and gravy for 1: 30 to 2 hours. By then the meat should be fork tender. I started baking at 3:28 PM and took out of the oven at 5:29 PM. The meat meat was extremely tender and the gravy was thicken to perfection!!!

13When done, I move the meat side to side as I mix the gravy.... serve with mashed potatoes!! I
