This dish is sure to warm your soul. Absolutely delicious! This is one of my favorite dishes that my mother makes for me when I come home. Eaten with warm tortillas....its ohhhhhh so good!

Ingredients For crockpot carne guisada

3 lbstew meat

2 canrotel, mild, medium, or hot

1 Tbspchopped garlic

1 lgonion, chopped

2 lgpotatoes, peeled and cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces

3 Tbspall purpose flour
-
1/2 tspmexican oregano
-
1 tspground cumin
-
1 tspchili powder
-
1 tspsalt, or to taste

1 tspblack pepper, or to taste

1-2seeded jalapeno peppers, chopped (optional)

1 pkgflour tortillas, warmed

1 canpeas, drained (optional)
How To Make crockpot carne guisada

1Place stew meat, 1/2 cup water, salt and pepper in crockpot.

2Drain juice from tomatoes into a measuring cup.

3Add tomatoes, garlic, onions, and potatoes to crockpot.

4Blend juice from tomatoes and enough water to equal 2 cups of liquid. Add cumin, oregano, and chili powder and flour into tomato juice mixture and mix well. Add to crockpot. Add salt and pepper to taste.

5Cook on low for 6-7 hours until sauce is thickened and meat and veggies are tender.

6Just before serving, warm your tortillas and enjoy.
