Ingredients For crock pot swiss steak

  • 1/2 Tbsp
    cooking oil
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste
  • 1 lb
    round steak, cut into serving size pieces
  • 1/2 md
    green bell pepper, sliced into rings
  • 1/2 md
    onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 can
    (15 oz.) diced tomatoes

How To Make crock pot swiss steak

  • 1
    Tenderize meat by pounding with mallet. Mix flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt in a shallow bowl or plastic bag. Dredge the steaks in the flour mixture.

    Heat oil in a skillet. Place coated steaks in pan and brown on both sides. Remove from heat.

    Place bell pepper and onion slices in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place steaks on top and pour tomatoes over all. Add a small amount of water or beef broth to skillet to loosen brown bits; pour over steak.

    Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.
