So I had some heavy cream I needed to use over the next few days and just rummaged in the fridge and freezer to see what I could use with it, steak, peppers, onions, and puff pastry,, what else do ya need.

Ingredients For creamy steak ( kat's)

  • 1-2
    steaks, your choice of cut
  • 1-2
    puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 2 c
    heavy cream
  • 3/4 c
    onion, diced
  • 3/4 c
    bell pepper, diced
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 tsp
    salt( optional)
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper(optional)
  • 2 tsp
    liquid smoke

How To Make creamy steak ( kat's)

    Slice steak into 1 inch chunks, dice onion and bell pepper, mince garlic. In a large skillet melt butter. Add steak, pepper, garlic, onion. Cook until steak is done, I like mine medium so I cooked the pepper and onions for a few minutes before adding the steak and garlic. Remember the steak will continue to cook after cream is added.

    Add 3 tablespoons flour over steak and cook for 2 minutes. Add cream, salt, pepper, and liquid smoke, stir well, simmer and let cream thicken some. ( if it gets to thick just add a little water or milk to thin out some)

    Cut puff pastry to the size you want ( I cut one sheet into 6 pieces)place on baking sheet, cut a couple of small slits into each piece and bake until golden brown.

    Place pastry on plate and ladle steak and cream over
