Ingredients For chili con carne for frito pie (crockpot)

  • 2 lb
    ground beef (i use lean)
  • 8 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp
    red chili powder
  • 4 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 2 can
    undrained chopped tomatoes (28-oz cans)
  • 2 can
    rinsed and drained pinto beans (16-oz cans)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2
    large bags of fritos
  • 1 1/2 lb
    shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 lg
    yellow onion, chopped

How To Make chili con carne for frito pie (crockpot)

    Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic; cook through. Drain and place into crockpot. Add all of the ingredients (except the Fritos and cheese) to the crockpot, stirring until mixed. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

    To serve: Add a handful of Fritos to a bowl, top with chil and some shredded cheese.
