We usually serve this with tortillas and make tacos. But you can serve it with Mexican rice and borracho beans. You can use shoulder or round steak also if you prefer. I have used stew meat on occasion.

How To Make carne guisada

1Cube the beef,

2Heat the oil in a skillet.

3Add the beef, onion, bell pepper and garlic.

4Cook until beef is browned and veggies tender.

5Add flour and stir until blended well.

6Add broth and tomatoes, salt, pepper and cumin. Stir to mix well.

7Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.

8Serve with flour tortillas.
