My family loves it and they loves any kind of beans. I make them when we have cookout or something. It is so easy to fix it and they are so delicious and sweet and tasty.

Ingredients For calico beans

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lb
    bacon, crispy cooked and crumbled
  • 3 can
    (16 oz.) pork beans in sauce
  • 2 16 can
    (16 oz.) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can
    (15 1/4 oz.) lima beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    mustard
  • 2 tsp
    white vinegar

How To Make calico beans

  • 1
    Cook ground beef, onion and garlic, stirring until beef crumbles and is no longer pink; drain. Combine ground beef mixture, crumbled bacon, beans and remaining ingredients in a 3-quart baking dish. Bake, covered, at 350 F. for 45 minutes. Makes 11 1/2 cups.
