I serve this alot when I have to carry a dish somewhere. I also serve it with a pot of cajun beans. I have people that can't believe that it's cabbage, you just can't get stop eating add, beans, cornbread and you got some good groceries

Ingredients For cajun cabbage

  • 1 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1 md
    onion
  • 6 c
    chopped cabbage
  • 1 1/4 c
    uncooked long grain rice
  • 1 can
    14 1/2oz stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can
    8oz tomato, sauce
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp
    cajun seasoning

How To Make cajun cabbage

  • 1
    In large Dutch oven, brown ground beef;add onion. Cook onions until transparent ;add the rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water seasonings and cabbage. Cover and bake at 375 for 50-60 or until cabbage is tender. Freezes great Note:if it looks dry you can and water or another can of tomato sauce just depends on your taste!
