When I was young, as in five/six I had lunch with GreatGrandma and on that day she had made Goulash. Went home and Mom asked what I had been up to. Back then we wore goulashes in the winter but that was to big a word for me. GMa made "Bet yer boots" and it's really good! That stuck and has become a family favorite and has now been passed on to another generation.

Ingredients For bet your boots (goulash)

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 c
    carrots sliced 1/4
  • 1 md
    onion diced
  • 1 clove
    gralic minced
  • 2 md
    potato's sliced
  • 1 c
    beef broth

How To Make bet your boots (goulash)

    Brown ground beef very well in a heavy skillet, add onions and garlic saute until onions are tender; about five minutes at med high.

    Add the carrots and potatoes. Pour the beef stock over, cover and simmer for about 35 minutes covered. When the potatoes are tender ...it's done! Keep on eye on this so it doesn't cook dry. This is good as is or extra special with corn bread.
