This meatloaf and fried potatoes with onions make up my husband's birthday dinner each year. It's one of his all time favorite meals.

Ingredients For best meatloaf

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 3/4 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 lg
    egg, beaten
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/3 c
    ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How To Make best meatloaf

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients together and place in a loaf pan. You can cook this in the loaf pan or unmold it onto a larger baking pan.

    Mix all topping ingredients and put on meat loaf.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let the meatloaf rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
