It's taken me almost a decade to tweak my chili recipe and make it so ALL 9 of my kids would eat it...well here it is. We love Wendy's chili...this is IT but with a bit more flavor. Adding sour cream or cheese to this only makes it better!! Hope you enjoy this as much as our family and friends do.

Ingredients For best-ever chili

  • 2-2.25 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 29-oz can
    tomato sauce
  • 1 can
    fire roasted tex mex style tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can
    rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  • 1 lg
    can of kidney beany (dark or light, your preferance), undrained
  • 1-2 can
    chili beans (regular or spicy, undrained)
  • 1 can
    fire roasted green chilies, undrained
  • 1 lg
    yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 stick
    celery, chopped
  • 4
    roma tomatoes, chopped
  • 1-2 tsp
    cumin
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 2-3 c
    water
  • salt
  • black pepper

How To Make best-ever chili

    Brown ground beef in Dutch oven...Drain well. Add all remaining ingredients and bring to a simmering boil over medium heat. Lower heat and simmer, uncovered 2- 2 1/2 hours.
