Ingredients For beefy pot pie

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 can
    beef with vegetables & barley soup
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 pkg
    10-oz. pkg frozen peas & carrots, thawed and drained
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp
    coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 c
    chedddar cheese, shredded (or your choice of cheese)
  • 1 can
    french-fried onion rings
  • 1
    pkg refrigerated biscuits

How To Make beefy pot pie

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large skillet, brown ground beef leaving some chunks. Drain well on paper towels.

    Return beef to pan and add soup, water, peas and carrots, and seasonings. Bring mixture to a boil; then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for approx. 5 minutes.

    Remove skillet from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 can french-fried onion rings.

    Pour mixture into a greased 12 x 8 baking dish. Cut each biscuit in half and place halves, cut side down, around the edge of the casserole. Bake, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until biscuits are done.

    Top with remaining cheese and french-fried onions - bake an additional 5 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
