A great recipe that tastes like it's been bubbling away on the stove top for hours. Can also be made with the beer of your choice.

Ingredients For beef stew

  • 600 g
    cubed stewing steak
  • 375 ml
    belgian beer
  • 1
    red onion
  • 2 clove
    garlic
  • 2
    carrots
  • generous tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 tsp
    dried thyme
  • salt
  • pepper

How To Make beef stew

    Marinate the cubed steak overnight in the Belgian beer
  • 2
    The following day, drain the meat and reserve the beer. Brown the meat in the pressure cooker.

    Meanwhile, chop the onion, garlic and carrots and then add them to the browned meat. Stir well. Add the Dijon, bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper. Add the reserved beer.

    Lid on and bring up to high pressure and cook for 20 minutes. Release the pressure naturally.

    When pressure has been released, remove the lid and allow to simmer whilst cooking the potatoes or rice.
