Ingredients For beef ragu

  • 2 1/2 c
    stew meat cut into 1 ich cubes
  • 1/3 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 3
    celery stalks chopped into 1 inch pieces
  • 3 lg
    potatoes peeled and diced
  • 16 oz
    canned tomatoes
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 2
    garlic cloves minced
  • 1 c
    beef stock
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    water

How To Make beef ragu

  • 1
    Combine 1/3 c. flour, salt and pepper, toss beef cubes with flour mixture and brown in 1 tbsp. oil in large stock pot.

    Add remaining ingredients except the 2 tbsp. of flour and water.
  • 3
    Stir well and cook for 5-6 hours on med. low. One hour before serving mix in the combined 2 tbsp. flour and 3 tbsp. water. Cook until thick.
