beef & hash browns hot dish
This is my favourite hot dish. I have substituted a small roast cut into cubes for the ground beef. I have also used shredded potatoes or potato cubes for the hash brown patties. So good!

1 pkghash brown patties

1 lgonion, chopped

2 lblean ground beef

1/2 cwater

1 pkgbrown gravy mix

1 cfrozen peas (or a can of peas, drained)

1 cmilk
-
1 cancream of mushroom soup
-
1 1/2 cshredded cheddar cheese

1 canfrench-fried onions
How To Make beef & hash browns hot dish

1Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray a 9 x 13" pan with cooking spray. Layer the bottom of the pan with hash brown patties, overlapping as necessary. I also break some of the patties into pieces to fill the holes.

2In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Add the onion and cook til the onion pieces are soft. Add 1/2 cup water and the brown gravy mix. Stir until thickened.

3Pour the ground beef mixture over the hash brown patties. Sprinkle the peas on top. Mix together the soup and the milk. Pour that over the peas. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over top.

4Cover and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and add the French-fried onions. Bake another 15 minutes, uncovered.
