beef essentials: crispy, spicy beef
This is an easy/peasy way to make crispy beef, and after the marinating, it can be ready in a matter of minutes. The sriracha, and tamari blend perfectly with the coconut sugar, garlic, and ginger to produce a amazing depth of flavor. I will be trying this marinade on some chicken breasts tomorrow. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How To Make beef essentials: crispy, spicy beef
-
1PREP/PREPARE
-
2I am using a beef bottom round for this recipe, but you could always try different cuts.
-
3To get a good sear on the steak, use a good heavy-bottomed pan, or Plancha grill (iron griddle). Cast iron is excellent for this recipe.
-
4Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
-
5Thinly slice the beef against the grain.
-
6Chef’s Tip: If you place the beef in the freezer for about 30 minutes, it will firm it up, and make slicing easier.
-
7Using a bowl or Ziploc bag, mix the reminder of the ingredients together, and then toss in the beef.
-
8Place in the refrigerator for 1 – 2 hours.
-
9Heat up your pan or Plancha grill to high heat. Lay the beef in the pan or grill, in a single layer, and allow to cook until beginning to crisp, about 1 – 2 minutes per side.
-
10Chef’s Tip: Do not crowd the beef, or it will steam, not crisp.
-
11PLATE/PRESENT
-
12My favorite way to serve this is in a bowl with some long-grained white rice, and sautéed carrots. Enjoy.
-
13Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
