This is really delicious. Great for those cold night dinners.This recipe I have had for 20 years. Very hearty. The bacon and the wine together is just so wonderful. Enjoy with a nice loaf of Italian bread,or french bread.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot
Ingredients For crock pot beef burgundy

8pieces of bacon cut in to 1 inch strips

3 lbof chuck beef,or rump roast cut and cubed

1medium onion
-
3-4large carrots peeled and chopped
-
3 Tbspflour
-
1 Tbsptomato paste
-
10 ozbeef broth
-
1 tsptyme
-
1bay leaf
-
2 clovegarlic minced
-
1/2 lbwhite pearl onions( to remove skin. blanch in boiling water for a minute, and peel)

1 lbmushrooms baby bella,or white sliced

2 Tbspbutter
-
1 3/4 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspblack pepper ground

1/2 cred wine (burgundy)or other
How To Make crock pot beef burgundy

1cook bacon until crisp.drain grease. Add the beef to pan and brown well.Put Beef and bacon in crock pot

2brownthe medium onion and carrots in pan.season with the salt and pepper. stir in the flour,and add broth.Mix and add to crock pot

3add thyme,tomato paste,garlic,bay leaf and pearl onions.Cook on low about 8 hours,or 4-5 on high

430-60 minutes before done. Saute mushroom in butter,add to crock pot with the wine and cook additional 30-60 minutes.

5Thicken gravy- cream 2 tablespoons of butter with 1/4 cup of flour. Roll in to pea size balls and put in crock pot on high. bring to a boil and stir. serve over egg noodles or rice
