I have been making this for so long I can't remember how many years! My father-in-law loved when I would make this before he passed. It is quick, fairly cheep, and hearty delicious-ness!

Ingredients For beef and barley skillet dinner

  • 3/4 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 c
    beef broth
  • 3/4 c
    quick cooking barley
  • 1 can
    diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    white vinegar

How To Make beef and barley skillet dinner

    In a deep skillet, cook beef, onion, and bell pepper until beef is no longer pink. Drain.

    Stir in rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook 20-25 minutes, or until barley is tender. Enjoy!
