Ingredients For philly cheesesteak hoagie (sallye)

2fresh hoagie or kaiser rolls, split in half

1 lgwhite onion, thinly sliced

1/2 lggreen bell pepper, thinly sliced

1/2 lgred bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cmushrooms, thinly sliced (optional)

1 tspminced garlic or garlic powder
-
1/2 tspsea or kosher salt
-
1/2 tspground black pepper
-
1/2 lbthinly sliced sirloin steak

8 ozgrated mozzarella or provelone cheese
How To Make philly cheesesteak hoagie (sallye)

1Preheat the oven to 200º Place buns on cookie sheet and place in oven to warm

2Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium high heat. When hot, add 2 tablespoons oil, onions and bell pepper and cook, stirring, until caramelized (about 6 minutes)

3Add the garlic, salt and pepper to vegetables, and cook, stirring for another 30 seconds. Push off to 1 side of pan or griddle

4Add the meat to the hot griddle and cook, stirring and breaking up with the back of 2 metal spatulas, until almost no longer pink (about 2 minutes). Mix the sautéed vegetables and meat together. Place on baking pan lined with parchment paper

5Sprinkle cheese over meat and vegetable mixture and melt in warm oven. Spoon the cheesy meat mixture into the warm buns and serve immediately with condiments of choice.
