Barbecued, not grilled short ribs. Done in the oven, so you can do this when the weather is bad or just too hot! Short ribs, not regular ribs.

Ingredients For barbecued short ribs

  • 3 1/2 lb
    beef short ribs
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    lemon, sliced
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 2 tsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    dried whole thyme

How To Make barbecued short ribs

    Place short ribs in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 450° for 20 minutes; drain. Return ribs to the baking pan.

    Combine ketchup and remaining ingredients in a small bowl; stir well. Pour the sauce over the ribs. Reduce heat to 350°, and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until the ribs are tender, basting occasionally with the sauce.

    Place any remaining sauce in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes. Serve ribs with sauce.
