Apparently this is a rarity on the West Coast as my California cousins had never had brisket before! It's a wonderful entree for a group and if there are leftovers, makes great sandwiches.

Ingredients For barbecued brisket

4-5 lbbrisket of beef

1 canbeef consomme
-
1/4 clemon juice concentrate

1 Tbspliquid smoke flavoring

1 tspworcestshsire

1 tspseasoned salt

1 tspground pepper

1 cbarbecue sauce
How To Make barbecued brisket

1Combine ingredients (except barbecue sauce) and pour over brisket to marinate overnigvht.

2Preheat over to 300 degrees. Cook in marinade about 1 hour per pound. During the last half hour uncovder, top with barbecue sauce and continue cooking until tender.

3I sometimes put the marinated beef in a slow (175 degree) oven and let it cook all night. Then finish it at a higher heat the next day.
