Perfect for picnics and BBQs, this is a summertime family favorite. My husband is a fan of bacon cheeseburgers, but he doesn't like all the fat and grease. I decided to experiment and this is what I came up with. It is his favorite grilled cheeseburger now. Hopefully, you'll try this and find it a keeper just as I did.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Instead of adding cheese and bacon to the top of the burger, this bacon cheeseburger recipe adds the ingredients to the actual burger. Bacon bits give a savory and smoky flavor to the burgers. Adding shredded cheddar cheese to the burger patty makes the meat juicier, and means gooey cheese is in each bite. Cooking the burgers on a charcoal grill adds even more smoky flavor to the cheeseburgers.
