Ingredients For amish homemade salami

  • 4 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 4 tsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    mustard seeds
  • 5 Tbsp
    morton tender quick

How To Make amish homemade salami

  • 1
    Mix everything together and shape into rolls and put in aluminum foil. Put in fridge for 2-3 days. Take out, poke holes in Foil and bake 1 hour on a 350 degrees on a cookie sheet. Take out of foil right away. Can be frozen or serve warm or cold in sandwitches. Slice after it is cold.

    Stormy's note: You can make them in 2 rolls of just over two pounds each or 4 of just over a pound or 9 rolls of 1/2 pound and give as gifts in a basket with other homemade things. Adjust cook time if doing smaller rolls
