Wish your child would try carrots and spinach? This easy pot-sticker project may make her/him less picky. Three or four pot stickers is a good serving size for kids.

Ingredients For veggie pot stickers

  • 2 Tbsp
    rice-wine vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    reduced-sodium soy sauce, divided
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    grated ginger
  • 16
    wonton wrappers
  • 1/2 c
    frozen chopped spinach, thawed and excess water squeezed out
  • 3 Tbsp
    corn kernels
  • 3 Tbsp
    grated carrots

How To Make veggie pot stickers

    WHISK AWAY: Help your child measure out the vinegar, 2 Tbs. soy sauce, sugar, and ginger, and place them in a bowl. Show her/him how to use a whisk and ask her/him to mix everything together. Suggest she/he hold onto the bowl with one hand to keep it steady.

    FILL, FILL, FILL: Put wonton wrappers on your work surface. Have your child place 1 tsp. corn, and 1/2 tsp. carrots on one side of each of the wrappers. Then have her/him drizzle the remaining soy sauce on top of the veggies in the wrappers.

    CLOSE UP: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Ask your kid to brush the sides of the wonton wrappers with water. Help her/him fold them over and pinch the sides together to seal. Boil for 3 mintues; drain. Cool slightly on a platter. Serve with a dipping sauce.
