chinese style fried rice

This was one of the first dishes I made 30 years ago when I first got married. The whole family now enjoys it.

Ingredients For chinese style fried rice

  • 1 1/3 c
    water
  • 1 1/3 c
    minute rice
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 1
    egg beaten
  • 1/3 c
    onion chopped
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    soy sauce

How To Make chinese style fried rice

  • 1
    Bring 1 cup of the water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in rice and remove from heat. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.

    Cook egg in butter in a 10" skillet until set. Add onion and the rice and cook and stir over medium heat until rice and onions are slightly browned..about 5 minutes.

    Combine remaining water and soy sauce. Stir into rice. Mix well and serve.
