Ingredients: 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (next time I’ll use a combination of all-purpose and white whole wheat flour); 1 teaspoon baking soda; 2 teaspoons baking powder; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1 teaspoon cinnamon; 1 teaspoon all-spice; 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg; 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves; zest and juice of 1 lemon; 1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, at room temperature; 1/2 cup sugar; 3/4 cup light brown sugar; 4 large eggs; 1 cup honey; 12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) pale ale beer or honey beer
