Homemade French Onion Soup
INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoon unsalted butter

3 large sweet onions about 2 pounds, peeled and thinly sliced

2 teaspoons vegetable or canola oil
•
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
•
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
•
1 cup white wine
•
4 cups Kettle and Fire Beef Bone Broth
•
8 sprigs thyme
•
2 bay leaves
•
1 baguette, sliced into 1/2" rounds - depending on the circumference of the bread use 1 or 2 slices per serving
•
1 garlic clove
•
2 teaspoons sherry
•
4 ounces grated gruyere cheese
