INGREDIENTS
You can always have your beef burgers, just try to keep them on the healthier side by using lean ground beef, making them open-faced (using only half a whole wheat bun), reducing the amount of cheese and incorporating veggies into the patty.

Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1/4 small onion, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb extra lean ground beef
1/3 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
1/8 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
1 egg
1 tbsp tomato paste
pepper, to taste
marinara sauce
1/4 cup shredded mozzerella
1 loaf fresh whole grain bread
12-15 large basil leaves
