I believe I first ate this at school at a luncheon and asked for the recipe, so it is fairly new to my collection.

Ingredients For taco soup

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • 1 can
    kidney beans
  • 1 can
    pinto beans
  • 2 c
    corn kernels, frozen
  • 1 qt
    tomatoes, diced
  • 1 can
    chilis, diced
  • 1 pkg
    ranch dressing mix
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning mix

How To Make taco soup

  • 1
    Brown ground beef in a large pot.
  • 2
    Add remaining ingredients, in order, do not drain any of the beans. Stir, cover, bring to a boil, then simmer for about 1 hour.

    To serve: top each bowl of soup with cheddar cheese, serve with cornbread or Frito corn chips
