She adapted it from one of her favorite cookbooks, Sweets for Saints & Sinners by Janice Feuer and Veronica di Rosa, about 7 years ago. INGREDIENTS
1.5 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp margarine or butter
1/4 c. shortening
Apple Filling
2 lbs Granny Smith apples (about 4 large)
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 8 oz container sour cream
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
1 large egg
Streusel Topping
3/4 c.all-purpose flour
1/2 c.walnuts
1/4 c.packed brown sugar
1/4 c granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp grated orange peel
4 Tbsp margarine or butter, cold
