violet's lemonade

My granddaughter picked out the ingredients from a list of fruits, juices, etc. when she was here a week ago. I bought what she requested and tonight, when she and her parents were here, we enjoyed some "fruity lemonade". (SIL added rum, the rest of us didn't!)

Ingredients For violet's lemonade

  • 4-5 c
    seedless watermelon chunks
  • 1 c
    mango-passion fruit juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    lavender simple syrup *
  • 1 c
    crushed ice
  • 1 can
    lemon flavored sparkling water (12 ounce)
  • 4-6 oz
    light rum (optional)
  • *SIMPLE SYRUP
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 8
    flower heads lavender or more

How To Make violet's lemonade

    Cut up watermelon and freeze the cubes in a zip lock bag.

    Make the simple syrup if you don't have any on hand: Boil water, add sugar, stir til dissolved. Add lavender, Let steep for an hour, strain into a bottle or jar; chill.

    To assemble - Fill blender container with frozen watermelon. Pulse until consistency of slush. Add mango-passionfruit juice and lavender syrup. Pulse a few times. Pour into glass and top off with sparkling water.
