Ingredients For sangria

  • two bottles spanish rioja, beaujolais nouveau, or other light dry red wine
  • 4 oz. cognac
  • 4 oz. grand marnier
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large apple, cored, peeled and sliced
  • 3 peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 2 liters club soda, chilled

How To Make sangria

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients except club soda and transfer to covered containers. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, pour fruit mixture into 2 quart sized pitchers and top off each with a liter of club soda. Stir gently with a wooden spoon, and serve with spoons in the pitchers. Guests can use the spoon to hold back the solids when filling their glasses or to scoop our a slice or two of fruit. Serves 14 to 16 Hot Toddies
