An authentic Sangria from the Valencia region of Spain. Use any dry, full-bodied red wine, like Tempranillo or RIoja, from Valencia or Valdepenas.

Ingredients For sangria

  • 1 bottle
    (750 ml) dry red wine (rioja), from spain
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    gran torres (or grand marnier)
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 sm
    orange, sliced
  • 1 sm
    lemon, sliced
  • 1 sm
    peach, sliced
  • 1 sm
    apple, sliced
  • 1 c
    club soda or sparkling water

How To Make sangria

  • 1
    Put all ingredients except club soda in a large pitcher. Stir to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

    To serve, add the club soda and ice. Pour into large wine glasses, or if you want it authentic, into Spanish earthenware mugs without handles.
