Summer is almost here and I'm looking forward to some fun summery drinks. I'm not getting to the grocery store as often as I used to because of the Covid virus, so decided to try some homemade versions of sweet and sour mix. I tried 3-4 different recipes and although they all use the same ingredients, I found that there was a different taste with each one because they all used different proportions of the same 4 ingredients. I played around and came up with this one that I like the most. It's simple.....and cheap......makes a smaller amount, and you don't need to run to the store!

Let the mixture come to room temperature.
  • 3
Add the lemon and lime juices.
  • 4
Pour into a container (I used a cleaned Prego jar).

NOTES: You can use bottled lemon and lime juices instead of fresh......but the taste is fresher and better with fresh.

VARIATION: Margarita mix usually leaves out the lemon juice for a lime based sour mix. So you can make this without the lemon juice as a substitute for margarita mix. Based on personal preference........you may want to add more lime juice to get a stronger flavor.
