This is so yummy! I love malted milk like ovaltine or carnation but the price just keeps going up too much. So I created my own! My family loves this!

Ingredients For homemade chocolate malt drink mix

  • 1 1/3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 c
    dry milk powder
  • 6 Tbsp
    unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 6 Tbsp
    malted barley powder

How To Make homemade chocolate malt drink mix

  • This is the malted barley powder I used. I got it from Amazon. It isn't pure malted barley, it has other ingredients in it but works great in this recipe.

    Pour ingredients into a sifter.

    Sift ingredients well.

    Give a little stir with a whisk or a fork to make sure it is combined well.

    Store in an air tight container in a cool, dry place.
  • My little hand held, battery powered mixer/frother

    To make milk: mix 8oz cold milk with 3 tbs of mix. It will resist blending and try to be clumpy. Use a magic bullet, blender, or hand held whipper/frother to help this blend together smoothly if clumps are bothersome.

    To make hot milk: mix 8oz hot milk with 3tbs of mix. Stir well.
