Ingredients For bonnie's perfect ice tea

  • 1
large, glass, 2 1/2 quart container with lid
  • 3
kroger brand regular size tea bags

How To Make bonnie's perfect ice tea

  • 1
Run your hot water tap until the water is very hot, then fill the glass container and rinse it out at least 3 times to get it good and hot.
  • 2
Immediately dangle the 3 tea bags inside the neck of the container at an angle and still holding the strings, let the very hot water run over the bags as you fill the container to within a half inch from the top. Drape the strings over the lip of the container, and cap the lid to hold it secure. Set the container on your counter for 3 to 4 hours until it becomes the color you like iced tea to be. The darker the tea, the stronger the brew. When the tea is to your liking, remove the tea bags and place the iced tea in the refrigerator to chill. Serve over ice, adding splenda or sugar, and lemon if desired.

Cook's Tip: I have two glass ice tea containers. When the first container is half empty, I start making the second container of ice tea. That way, we always have fresh ice tea for our evening meals. Enjoy!
