This recipe has been handed down for generations in my family. We love it. I can be done by soaking for an hour and a half or up to overnight in case you're like me and forget it's there LOL.

Ingredients For horchata (mexican rice milk)

  • 1 c
    uncooked white rice
  • 1
    cinnamon stick
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 4 c
    water, divided
  • 2 c
    milk

How To Make horchata (mexican rice milk)

  • 1
    Mix rice, cinnamon stick, sugar and 2 cups of water. Let mixture soak for a minimum of 1.5 hours (I usually do overnight)

    Place mixture into blender, add rest of water and milk and blend until finely ground.

    Pour through a strainer, if it's too sweet add more water to taste. Enjoy!
