How To Make grilled lemonade
-
1In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. This usually takes 2 or 3 minutes. Then remove from heat and let it cool.
-
2Slice 10 lemons in half and the other lemons into slices.
-
3Dip lemons in sugar.
-
4Put the cut lemons on a clean, hot grill over medium heat.
-
5Cook with the lid down for 5 or 6 minutes until they are golden and caramelized.
-
6Let the lemons cool slightly. Then juice, over a strainer, into a liquid measuring cup. Measure 1 cup of lemon juice.
-
7Pour the lemon juice and simple syrup into a pitcher with 5 cups of water.
-
8Stir until well mixed. Taste the lemonade and add more water to taste.
-
9Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid, and place it in the fridge. Let it chill for a few hours or overnight before serving. It can be served immediately over ice, but the ice will melt quickly and dilute the lemonade.
-
10When serving, add a little extra tartness with a few slices of grilled lemon to the pitcher and glasses.
