Nothing like a warm cup of cider on a cold day...this is a recipe that was shared with me back when I was still a Longaberger consultant, and it stuck with me because it is good!

Ingredients For spicy cinnamony cider

  • 4
    cinnamon sticks
  • 10
    whole cloves
  • 2
    inches fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 2
    star anise
  • 1 gal
    apple cider
  • orange peel, no pith, from 1 large orange
  • 1/4-1/2 c
    dark rum or 2 teaspoons rum extract

How To Make spicy cinnamony cider

  • 1
    Place seasonings in a piece of cheesecloth and tie together to make a small bundle. Combine remaining ingredients except rum in large stockpot. Heat on med-low heat and bring to a simmer. Reduce heta to low and continue to cook 15-20 min. Cool slightly, garnish with additional cinnamon sticks and sliced oranges if desired.
