Although spring has sprung in parts of the Midwest, a late round of flu and bad colds is still going around. The Hot Toddy is thought to be one of the best "cures for what ails ya" in these here parts of the country.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Hot Toddy's are an old cold remedy that some people still use today over cough syrup. This toddy is perfect. It's warm and comforting with just the right portion of ingredients. We used our favorite herbal tea. There was just enough honey to sweeten the tea and coat a sore throat. Lemon adds just the right amount of zest (and Vitamin C we all need when sick). The shot of alcohol isn't overwhelming or harsh (but it'll sure help you get some sleep). There are many Hot Toddy recipes out there, but we enjoyed this version.
