One of my great friends made a mug of this for me one winters day. She told me how her family always takes it along on camping trips. I just couldn't leave without the recipe. I have enjoyed making it for my family and now this year I am filling liquid creamer bottles with it, decorating them as snowmen, and passing them out for teacher gifts. I'm happy to share it with the JAP community as well.

Ingredients For fireside coffee mix

  • 2 c
instant cocoa (ovaltine or ghirardelli cocoa with chocolate are my favoites)
  • 2 c
instant non dairy creamer, plain (coffeemate not the cheap stuff because you want creamy not just "white")
  • 1 c
    instant coffee or espresso powder
  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon

How To Make fireside coffee mix

  • 1
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and store in a well sealed container

To make a cup, stir 3 heaping teaspoons into a cup of water. To be quite honest, I use more of the mix per cup than this because I fill my mug up and/or use a cappuccino size mug.

This is great on road trips, camping trips, to give as gifts in pretty containers, or just to keep on hand at home all winter long.
