This is my mom's recipe..she has been making this all her life,whenever there is a "cold brewing" of course leave the rum out for kiddies.

Ingredients For el ponche ( spiked hot milk)

8 ozmilk

1 stickcinnamon
-
1/4 tspvanilla extract
-
1egg yolk
-
1shot of rum
-
sugar to taste
How To Make el ponche ( spiked hot milk)

1simmer milk with cinnamon covered as to let the flavors infuse.

2in a mug, put in the yolk and vanilla

3here comes the tricky part....with a spoon very slowly start putting in the warm milk as to NOT cook the egg ( temper)...after you have incorporated about 2-3 tablespoons by stirring...then discard the cinnamon and while stirring put in the rest of the milk....add the shot of yum (I mean rum)and sugar to taste. ENJOY and night-night you go.
