beet juice

I didn't know I liked beets. I guess it's the pickled ones I hate. Beets are a great liver cleanser. I like to juice them with apple or pineapple best. I also mix with my green juice too. Healthy and tastes good.

    beet root
  • 2
    apples

    pineapple chunks, fresh
  • carrots, chopped

    kale leaves
  • 1/2
    lemon
  • 1
    inch ginger

Wash all fruit and veggies in a solution of 1 cup white vinegar and water. Rinse. Peel and core any fruit and vegetable, especially non organic ones. I usually juice kale and beets with something more watery.

I use an extractor, so there is pulp left behind. You can throw it out or recycle. Use for smoothies, cooking, worm beds and compost in gardens.

You can drink the fresh juice or store in air tight container in fridge to drink later. If you wait you will need to shake it up. Depending on the speed and quality of your juicer you may have a lot of foam. You can use a strainer in these instances. I use the Ball mason jars for storage. Pour as close to full as possible. Juice can last 48-72 hours in fridge.
